Virgin Media are the largest cable operator in the UK. They were formerly known as NTL:Telewest, which itself was born out the merger between NTL and Telewest in 2005.
Whilst Virgin Media are best known for their cable broadband services (currently available to around 50% of the UK at 20Mbps, with 50Mbps being launched later this year), they also offer ADSL services. Their ADSL services are based upon BT Wholesale's IPStream product. It was announced in 2007 that Virgin Media would be offering ADSL2+ services using Cable & Wireless's LLU network, although at the time of writing no availability announcements have been made.
